Luxembourg

Each morning we wake up with this few from Megan and Clay's living room...not too shabby.

Today we departed Huy for Luxembourg...that's right, another country.

It's pretty incredible that you can hope go on a two hour train ride and be in a different country. This place is beautiful - there is a valley in the center of the city with the important buildings up high so it creates some amazing views.

So we walked into the city and ate some local cuisine...

Megan and Clay don't get much Mexican food and it tasted really good.

The old part of the city is incredibly old (founded in 963) and the main fortress was built around the valley in about 1340...we started up at the top of this...

And here are the views from the top...

There is a monestary in the valley and they have an incredible garden...

Along with apple trees (Clay stole from the monks)...

You may remember this picture from my mom and Rob's trip...

I couldn't quite recreate...

But in my defense this was a different circle, much higher off the ground.

The first day, I told you that we (OK, just me Clint) was going to try to find this Michael Jackson graffitti Megan had mentioned. I think this as close as I am going to get.

Down in the valley they had a miniture golf course and this...we couldn't talk any of us into riding it. But it looks like the kids are having fun :).

And a parting shot from Luxembourg - what a wonderful day together!

  1. WHAT??? no hiking for miles down into the valley and back up on the other side to see a fort???
and no running a mile to catch a train???
